Optimal Body

Conquer weight loss and feel great with your personalized program and a supportive team.

In Canada, the overweight population has increased threefold since the mid-1980’s. While there are many different factors that contribute to this, one thing stands out: Most overweight and obese adults don’t know how to go about losing weight—and some, who have battled those extra pounds for years, have questioned if they are even physically capable of doing so.

Common Reasons People Fail to Lose Weight

Some of the most common reasons for unsuccessful attempts at weight loss include:

  • A lack of knowledge and understanding when it comes to diet and exercise
  • A lack of accountability
  • Feeling like there’s not enough time in a day
  • Hormonal imbalances that influence appetite and energy levels
  • Underlying but unidentified biological factors such as epigenetics

Obesity-Related Side Effects and Illnesses

Weight has a significant impact on your risk of:

  • Developing depression and anxiety, resulting in lower quality of life.
  • Developing certain types of cancers. (It is estimated that 20% of all cancers can be attributed to obesity, independent of diet.)
  • Developing non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.
  • Osteoarthritis (risk is threefold)
  • Type 2 diabetes, which ultimately causes irreversible damage to small blood vessels surrounding the kidneys, eyes and heart.
  • Gallstones and gallbladder disease.

The good news is that losing weight at a modest and sustained rate can directly improve these risk factors. So, now it comes down to - how to do it.

One Size Does Not Fit All

Many people who have tried and failed to lose weight (or keep it off) have followed conventional approaches and pre-built, “cookie cutter” diet plans and exercise programs. The problem is, we’re not all the same! One size does not fit all.

An individualized, intensive lifestyle intervention, on the other hand, shows a far greater benefit than a diet plan alone. Systematic reviews and trials have shown that an individualized nutrition consultation decreases weight more, compared to a generalized approach.

Sustainable weight loss depends on so much more than establishing a caloric deficit, yet many clinics still focus their programs on the calories in – calories out concept. We understand that monitoring caloric intake is only part of the solution. While health behavior modifications, like diet and exercise, are the cornerstone of obesity management, these changes alone are often not sufficient for achieving one’s goals. In fact, health behavior modification generally achieves only a 3% to 5% increase in weight loss.

A critical component that is largely ignored is the fact that obesity is also linked to a series of hormonal regulators that make it incredibly difficult to lose weight on your own. For many, it’s not simply an issue of will power. Our medical team understands this and will create a custom weight loss plan based on your individual needs.

Our Individualized Approach to Weight Loss and Longevity

Our individualized, comprehensive program is designed to help you make lasting weight and body composition changes with the help of a team of doctors, nutrition consultants, and fitness coaches and using the latest wearables, technology, medications, and protocols. Some key elements include:

Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM)

This wearable technology helps us understand an individual’s response to their diet by providing real-time feedback about how certain foods affect blood sugar levels. In turn, this will allow us to understand what specific changes need to be made in order to create an effective, custom plan.

Through our online platform, a team of health coaches and nutrition consultants will also be available to help keep you motivated and accountable.

Machine & AI-based fitness technology

Our high-tech fitness equipment will optimize your results using short duration workouts. Two unique components of our program are the ARX and CAROL Bike that will help you get fit in an incredibly short amount of time.

Weight Loss Medications (if applicable)

When you are doing all the right things but need some extra support, use of novel medications related to weight loss may be a option to consider. These are medications are also focused on decreasing risk factors such as cardiovascular disease, cancer, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, and polycystic ovarian syndrome.

The evidence clearly shows that participating in an individualized program, overseen by health professionals with weight management expertise, results in greater weight loss and body composition change than attempting to lose weight on your own. If you’re tired of struggling with your weight and battling weight-related health issues, we can help.
